When I first returned to SF after a year in LA, I lived in Lower Haight on Oak. you can do a fun Saturday down there. Mad Dog in the Fog is a cool English-y kind of bar, Toronado is loud and crowded but great for beer fans, Rosamunde is next door, and Danny Coyle's is a pleasant (if a bit pricey) place too. There's others too, but one of my favorite things to do is to go to the comic store, buy some comics, then read them at one of the bars. (nerdy yes I know)

Divisadero has some cool stores, and one of the best comic book stores in the bay area. And if you have a car, there's what I call “AutoPlatz” – a giant gas station + car wash across the street from another giant gas station.

that's what I hear. I went to visit Julie later at http://www.secessionsf.com/ and she told me about the Rosamunde in the Haight. I will have to try that one out too since it's a bit closer to my house. Oh, yea, and I LOVE the Haight! I should do a post about that next, but I'm always too busy shopping to take pictures when I go there

the new rosamunde in the mission is great. such a bargain too. I like the original on haight also, but the new one has more places to sit.
