Remember that time it was sunny and 70 degrees in January? No? Then you must not be lucky enough to live in the amazingness that is San Francisco. I WIN!

Confession time: I’ve lived in San Francisco for over 2 and half years and I just recently made my first visit to Twin Peaks. Ugh, I know!!! Stop judging me!!!

For those of you who don’t know….Twin Peaks has one of the BEST views in San Francisco. This is where everyone and their mom comes on a beautiful sunny and warm January day (did I mention how lucky we are?).

My goal originally was actually to visit Sutro Tower, which I have been staring at for the past year from my house, too lazy to actually get my big butt off the couch and see the damn thing up close and personal. Well I made it to Sutro Tower!!!!!!!!!!!!

And took a bunch of awesome pictures of it.

And then I realized how close we were to Twin Peaks (hop-skip-and-a-jump close) so we made our way over to finally see with our own eyes the best view in the city.

Oh San Francisco, you take my breath away.

This weekend Greg and I hung out with the bears, trees and wildlife in Muir Woods. We ventured over the Golden Gate Bridge into one of the most beautiful spots I’ve seen in Northern California. On our way through the curvy road to Muir Woods we saw some sweet views of Sausalito and San Francisco. We even got up close (and not personal) with a local deer family. After taking way too many pictures of the wildlife we moved on only to park a million miles away from the entrance, so we hiked to our hiking destination.

The trees are massive and plentiful in this spot making it seem dark right in the middle of a sunny afternoon. My goal was to take as many pictures as possible because it is not everyday that we get access to a car for adventures such as this. Wendy and Steve packed the essentials so we wouldn’t starve on this mysterious hike. Luckily most of the paths are paved so it would have been pretty tough to get lost in the wilderness.

It’s so nice to get away from the city, strap on some hiking shoes, and become a tree lady for a day. I’m for sure making it back to this spot again!

Sunday afternoon Greg and I went on an amazing hike through the Lands End Trail, which happens to be in our backyard! We started off by the Sutro Baths and made our way about a mile down the trail. The views and plant life along the entire trail were gorgeous! The rocky ocean, the green cliff side, and a perfect view of the Golden Gate Bridge. When we began the hike we had no idea we would be seeing the Golden Gate Bridge, so it was a great surprise when we turned that corner and got the best view in the whole city of the beautiful bridge and all the passing ships and sailboats. At the end of the mile we sat along the edge of the cliff (safely!) and ate our packed lunch and enjoyed the clear skies and warm air. There were plenty of people along the path, but with the perfect weather and amazing views I would have expected more. This is definitely the best spot in San Francisco and we will be going back as often as possible.
