Not to be all lame and say Happy Birthday to myself, but HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And Happy Birthday to Twitter!! I’m really glad Twitter was born on this awesome day of awesomeness because that’s how I met a lot of you who come read my blog and read my random tweets everyday.

Today I turn 26 years old (I have 21 years on Twitter!). I spent the weekend telling everyone I was just going to stop at 25, but I woke up this morning and realized I didn’t feel any different now that I was officially 26 so I’m just going to go with it. But, I’m pretty sure I’ll stop aging at 29. That sounds like a good number to me.

The birthday weekend was filled with lots of friends, tacos, bowling, and rain (as usual. Curse of having your bday on the first day of spring).

I was having way too much fun and didn’t take as many pictures as I would have hoped, but here are a few from the festivities.

I’ve decided that I’m not even going to look back at the exact date of my last post here. If you look, don’t even tell me! *shame face*

So confession: I have been a very bad blogger lately. I guess that’s not much of a confession since it’s so OBVIOUS. But, here I am FINALLY writing a post, and it is for somewhat selfish reasons (here’s the real confession…)

I have signed up to go to Bloggers in Sin City with 100 awesome bloggers. I’m just so excited to meet all these people who I follow on Twitter (yes I still tweet! and yes I still hate the word “tweet”). I’ve met so many new friends in San Francisco from my blog and twitter I’m so ashamed I have let this blog fall behind. Well I’m back! And it’s all because I didn’t want to sign up for Bloggers in Sin City and have my last actual blog post be … well … let’s just say forev-sauce ago!

After signing up for Bloggers in Sin City I realized I haven’t bought a new bathing suit or Vegas appropriate dress in years! Here are a few dresses I have my eye on:

Tuesday night I got the privilege to attend a private party with Yelp at the brand new House of Air in the Presidio. Be jealous!

This cold Tuesday night I discovered two things:

1. A warehouse full of trampolines is what heaven must be like

and

2. I have the worst balance in human history. Well I kinda already knew this, but it became official when I couldn’t last more than 20 seconds without having to pick myself up off the ground. Hence the overly sore arms I’ve had for the past two days!

Really, the only word I can say that can even come close to describing this place is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Since all other words escape me, just watch these videos and check out the pics.

I can’t wait to go back with a big group of friends, and at only $14 an hour I have a feeling I will be back very soon! I’m reserving my next birthday NOW!

Saturday morning I finally decided to use my Joffer pass at Bikram Yoga Seacliff. I was actually really nervous! I’ve never done regular yoga (unless doing it on the Wii Fit counts??) and I went straight for the hardcore hot yoga. What do you wear to Bikram yoga? How much water do I drink before? Do you wear shoes? It was all a mystery to me!

As soon as I walked into the building I was punched in the face with heat, and this was only the lobby! As I started stripping off my clothes (seriously I was burning up already and I wasn’t even in the actual studio yet! I knew I was going to die!) I looked around to see what other people were wearing. My shorts and tank top seemed to blend in pretty well, and no, shoes are not worn during Bikram yoga. I was feeling like I fit in pretty well…that is until I saw the booty shorts wearing hot girl. Mental Note: Don’t stand next to this chick in class.

No I didn’t stand next to this girl, I sat next to booty shorts wearing old man, who’s light grey shorts quickly became dark grey shorts. GROSS! Well he wasn’t the only one sweating his balls off! Within the first 2 minutes as I was bending down in the first yoga position I felt a drip of sweat fall slowly down the back of my leg from my ass. DOUBLE GROSS! I didn’t know people’s asses (including my own) could sweat so much! Anyone wearing anything but black suddenly had different color clothes on. I know! I’m totally grossing you out, but I’ve seriously never sweat so much in my life!

The best part of the whole experience was when our 20 pound Bikram yoga instructor said to spread your legs and touch your forehead to the floor. I actually started laughing! She’s kidding right? NO! She was not kidding! I immediately looked around the class to see if anyone else was laughing, and thats when I noticed everyone touching their heads to the floor! Are you fricken’ kidding me! Yea, so my head has a long way to go before it gets any where near the floor unless I pass out, which almost happened about 5 times throughout the hour and a half session. I loved when she said that “our goal is to only take one water break throughout the session.” As soon as she said that I suddenly became ravenously thirsty! Like I was going to die if I didn’t have water that second! As she walked towards the other side of the room I quickly took a swig of my water bottle and quickly got back into head-on-ass position.

Although I felt like I was going to die at any moment throughout the entire class, I felt so good afterward. The instructor was so nice and encouraged me throughout the whole thing by telling me how “good” I was doing, and that one day I would be able to touch my head to places I never thought possible. My legs were jello as I walked out of 105 degrees and into the 50 degree Seacliff streets, but I felt awesome! My finger tips even felt awesome! All I know is I have never sweat so much in my life and I’m sure I smelled like a farm animal afterwards and that is why even the bum who got on the bus wouldn’t sit next to me. I truly feel bad for whoever had to sit in my bus seat after me. Sick!

Today I pretty much can’t move and I feel like I have been hit by a bus, but I guess that’s a good thing(?) I will be back as soon as I can lift my body out of my bed.

What is my goal in life?

Experience as many things as possible in my lifetime.

As many of you know I moved here from Los Angeles almost a year ago. What you might not know is why. I moved to San Francisco in the pursuit of happiness. This city is so open to a variety of people, all in the FREE pursuit of THEIR happiness. Whether it be to start their own business, get a great job, find a girlfriend/boyfriend, write peotry, sing music, dance, run marathons, play sports, or just be as different as possible. Some may argue that Los Angeles can offer the same things, but to me it just didn’t have the same freedom as I feel I have and I think everyone has here in SF. I love this city because it has encouraged me to have more EXPERIENCES in less than one year than I have had in the past. Well, that’s probably not true since this one year of experiences is battling with 24 years that I have not been in SF. But I feel the ones I have had here are more meaningful to me.

This whole pursuit of happiness post sprouted from a new book I read this month, Delivering Happiness – A Path to Profits, Passion, and Purpose by Tony Hsieh CEO of Zappos. He is a business entreprenuer in the pursuit of happiness. “Ultimatly, he shows how using happiness as a framework can produce profits, pasion, and purpose in both business and life.” As someone very interested in business and technology I did enjoy this book for his story on how he made Zappos what it is today: one of Fortune magazine’s top 25 companies to work for. But I also enjoyed it because of the personal story he tells about his pursuit for happiness. In his case it is to spread the word of HAPPINESS, which he does through his company, his friendships, and now this book. I learned some valuable lessons from Tony’s, and many of his friends, words in this book.

I highly suggest you purchase Delivering Happiness through Amazon, and for $13 how can you not?! But, just in case you don’t believe me when I express how good this book is I have an extra copy to give away to one of you lucky SFNoob readers. As you may remember I asked all of you which were your favorite parks in San Francisco. I put on my walking shoes, grabbed my book and I was off! Cause I love San Francisco, and to make up for my lack of SF enthusiasm I am listing 7 reasons why I love San Francisco (inspired by a post today on SFist). Here we go….

Most of this list comes from the amazing weekend I just had

1. Zip-Lining over the Embarcadero: Some people may be surprised to hear this, but there are little kids who get to do this everyday on their way to school! Yea, yea, we’re all supposed to feel bad for them, but I’m fricken jealous! Don’t get your panties in a bunch, I know it’s horrible and sad, but still! Just sayin’

2. There is no shortage of old women dressed in blue feathers wondering the streets

3. Bed Races: Not only are beds being raced for charity, but they were being raced by people who can touch the back of their heads with their foot. WHAT!

4. Dogfest: That’s right! A whole festival dedicated to all the cute dogs that live in this city. Unfortunately, I do not have my own dog. Also, unfortunate: no one abandoned their dog at Dogfest for me to gladly claim. NUTS!

5. Only in San Francisco can you spill a beer in your friends lap within the first 5 minutes of arriving at your destination and have everyone, INCLUDING the beer soaked friend laugh. Oh yea, AND have said beer soaked friend poor another been on his own lap to make us laugh even more. I’m guessing most of the credit goes to $1 day at Golden Gate Fields. $1 beers = Happy San Franciscans

6. Random marching bands down Haight St. all for the cause of sit/lie. I really have no comment on the issue. I have been lucky enough to not be one of the people sitting or lying on the sidewalks of San Francisco.

7. Sunsets at Ocean Beach. The picture says it all!

I got on the 38L this evening at 6:00pm at Market and Sansome, going outbound with all my fellow downtown workers excited to get home. No one talks during these busy commuter hours, everyone is too busy with their favorite mobile device catching up on everything they missed out on during the work day. While catching up on all my favorite tweeters I suddenly heard a young woman scream, “HEY! He took my cell phone!!” She immediately ran off the bus and after the thief as we all looked around aimlessly and came out of our own little worlds. The bus quickly sped off from the Geary and Divisidaro stop, and we were all left wondering what exactly happened.

I’ve heard stories of this happening before but I was completely shocked to actually have it happen to the poor girl sitting next to me. It could have easily been my phone out that bus door in a second flat. I sure won’t be going into that after work commuter coma again!

With my lack of real world attention, I unfortunately did not see the theif. In fact I barely saw who the girl was, just heard her voice. IT ALL HAPPENED SO FAST! Someone hold me!
